A young girl is kidnapped and taken to a remote area in Tennessee where she lives in isolation from the outside world. Her world changes when an exasperated mother has a slip of the tongue and reveals the secret she has been hiding from Clara for years. Clara questions it but does not get a satisfactory answer.
She runs away in the middle of the night, searching for her real mother. She gets help from a neighbor that she accidentally met and they help Clara in her search
