SUMMARY

In Preacherman, Trina F. Winde introduces us to Charlie Nettles, a man grappling with the complexities of faith, love, and loss. Raised by Elroy, a stern Baptist minister more devoted to his flock than his grieving son, Charlie's childhood is marred by an unhealed wound. His only solace comes in the form of Abigail, a fellow preacher's child. Their inseparable bond shatters when she leaves for college, severing all ties with Charlie. Haunted by this second abandonment, Charlie escapes to college, where he and Wes, Abigail's brother, start a dormitory ministry. It's here that Charlie meets Marianna, his future wife. As their church flourishes, so does the emotional distance between them, with Marianna shouldering the burdens alone. When a tragedy strikes, Charlie's unresolved past and present collide, sending him on a tumultuous journey back to Sinclair, S.C., the cradle of his sorrows. Confronting the ghosts of his past, Charlie uncovers long-buried secrets and faces the pain head-on. Preacherman is a story of finding redemption and hope amidst life's storms, a testament to the healing power of faith and the relentless resilience of the human spirit.
