I'm Alex Goodman, an audiobook narrator and voice actor. My training started with a BFA in Acting from Wright State University, followed by a Certificate in Sound Design for Video Games from Berklee College of Music. Together, they sealed my love for building whole worlds out of sound, where character and environment bring a story to life.

Before narration, I cut my teeth in Chicago theater and sketch work. I found my way to live radio, playing Thultak the Wandering Barbarian on Locked into Vacancy, along with various other characters across the show. From there I co-created The Tale of Hunter's Bay, a six-part audio drama where I wrote, directed, produced, cast, edited, and acted. Running every part of that production taught me exactly what it takes to make a story sound alive, and it's shaped how I approach every book I narrate since.

I've now got 11 audiobooks published, with 4 more coming, spanning fantasy to romance. I work out of a professionally built, room-within-a-room home studio, acoustically treated for a clean, reflection-free signal.

My gear: a Røde NT1 5th Gen condenser mic, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen interface, Reaper, and Audio-Technica ATH-M50x monitoring headphones. I record using the punch-and-roll method for an efficient, broadcast-ready turnaround.
