I’m GM Hakim (he/him), a full-time voice actor and audiobook narrator. My happy clients include Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, MARVEL SNAP, Novartis, EF (Education First), Spotify, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Blackstone, Tantor, Dreamscape, The U.S. Federal Highway Administration, and more.

I work from my professional home studio just outside of Boston. I record on a Sennheiser MKH 416 or a Neumann TLM 103 with a Rode pop filter. I use a Presonus Revelator io24 or a Focusrite Scarlett Solo XLR interface in my professional home studio with fanless MacBook Air outside the booth, which is treated with 2" and 3" acoustic foam. I use Studio One as my DAW, and can manage clean punch and roll WAV files as requested. I am on USA Eastern Time (UTC-5).

My voice acting training and coaching took place at Abacus Entertainment in New York City. Before diving into voiceover full-time, I studied broadcast and print journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where I spent three years hosting a weekly radio show on WAER-FM.

From 2005 to 2023, I taught middle school English, theater, and improv—mostly in Montessori schools. When I’m not behind the mic, you’ll find me writing, playing board games, playing guitar, leading Dungeons & Dragons games as a Dungeon Master, riding my bike, reading, cooking, and spending time with my wife and daughter.
