I'm a classically trained British actor, turned full time audiobook narrator. I work from my home studio in rural Bedfordshire, UK, where I live with my wife and two children. I graduated from Webber Douglas Academy, London and over the years I appeared in numerous stage productions, as well as working in TV, radio and short films. In 2021, after a break from acting, I built a home studio and set up a voiceover business, working on a range of projects from animation to e-learning. Then at the start of 2024, after some excellent coaching from top narrator Ana Clements, I made audiobooks my primary focus, taking my total to 10 titles by the end of the year (all on Audible). I'm extremely versatile, with an easy to listen to soft English RP accent. My voice has variously been described as playful, inquisitive, endearing and engaging. I love reading children's and YA books, fantasy, sci-fi, crime, historical, comedy and romance. I've also narrated several non-fiction titles. I use a pseudonym (Hugo Flynn) when narrating adult content.
My studio is fully acoustically treated and has been approved by sound engineers from several production houses. I use a Rode NT1 mic, Audient ID4 interface, Sennheiser 280 Pro headphones, Macbook Air M1, Twisted Wave DAW and Izotope RX Standard when needing to self produce.
